2. Bobby Van’s Steakhouse
230 Park Avenue
New York, New York 10169
(212) 867-5490
Bobby Van's Steakhouse is celebrating its 13th year on Park Avenue (at 46th Street) in New York's landmark Helmsley Building. Bobby Van's Steakhouse is providing its fare in serious surroundings. Upon entering, one is greeted with the sight of a credenza groaning under the weight of large bottles of wine. A bar full of regular customers is on the left, and looking into the one-hundred seat dining room, one sees the thirty-foot high ceiling and windows that overlook Park Avenue.
The Huge, highly marbled Porterhouse steaks coming on platters from the kitchen are often followed by Maine Lobsters that seem just as large.
Of course, this requires choosing wine from our award winning (Wine Spectator, Best of Award of Excellence 2007) wine list. Wines in large formats and personally selected by our Sommelier are a strong feature of the wine list. The list is very comprehensive in California Cabernets and Meritage style wines. First growth Bordeaux are also heavily stocked in older vintages.
Bobby Van's was named Gourmet Magazine's Favorite Steakhouse in Manhattan. We are also the recipient of the 2007 DiRōNA award as well as being one of the restaurants recommended by the 2007 Michelin Guide.
At our sister restaurants in Washington, D.C., we were named Top Steakhouse in the Washington Magazine and Best Porterhouse in D.C. in the Washingtonian. Our Washington D. C. Steakhouse is located a few blocks from The White House and the new Grill is located across the street from the Washington Convention Center.
Our Park Avenue location is now joined by three New York City locations, in Downtown Manhattan at 25 Broad Street, across from the New York Stock Exchange. Formerly the site of a century old J.P. Morgan Bank, on the West side on 50th Street in the theater district and on East 54th street in the heart of Manhattan.
And don't forget to visit our legendary location in Bridgehampton on your next visit to the east end of Long Island, packed with locals and celebrities.
