7. McKendrick's Steak House

4505 Ashford Dunwoody Road
Atlanta, Georgia 30346
770-512-888

McKendrick's Steakhouse is honored to be chosen for the 6th consecutive year as one of Tom Horan's America's Top Ten Steakhouses for 2007.

Claudia and Doug McKendrick have over 30 years of fine dining experience in Atlanta and opened their flagship restaurant in November of 1995. The restaurant is located in Park Place Shopping Center which is in the heart of the Perimeter Center business and shopping district in the north central area of Atlanta easily accessible near the intersection of I-285 and Ashford Dunwoody Road.

The steakhouse is noted for and serves only the finest center-cut USDA prime beef along with Australian cold-water lobster and fresh seafood as available. The service staff is unpretentious, friendly, and informed as any in town. The menu is complimented by a wine list with over 350 selections from around the globe, which has received national awards such as the Wine Spectator's 2003, 2004 and 2005 Award of Excellence.

McKendrick's has a warm, clubby atmosphere with more than ample plush leather seating, solid oak walls and art deco lighting. The music is purely Frank, Dean, Sammy and Tony. The restaurant has two private dining rooms, which accommodates groups of 12 to 50 people. The private rooms are the preferred choice of major corporations in the area for private corporate affairs.

Highly rated by the Zagat Survey 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 as clearly one of the best steakhouses, top quality beef and huge a'la carte side dishes brought to the table by a courteous staff. Not only are the charred cuts of USDA prime beef excellent, but the kitchen follows through with commendable seafood, salads and a thorough, smart roster of side dishes. You can go safely in many directions on the menu, but you won't go wrong with a New York strip or a fat porterhouse. And pay attention: 'the bartender mixes a mean martini' - John Kessler of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. McKendrick's has an extremely loyal local and business clientele and reservations are highly recommended. Once you have experienced this wonderful restaurant, you will make it a point to return whenever you have a desire for the freshest seafood and finest prime beef in Atlanta.
